Caveat Emptor...tag confusion

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro-/222196710729?forcerrptr=true&hash=item33bbf4bd49:g:KhcAAOSwbsBXlCGO&item=222196710729
VIN tag pictured in the ad is 124379N683090. That places final assembly on or about September 10, 1969. Body tag has an 02D date, second week February 1969. Whoops...
One or both of the tags may not be original to the car. I would be checking the hidden VINs closely.

He's also stating it has an M21 when it's really an M20.

what is 19kxxxxxx? That partial vin makes me suspect that part that it is on is from a different car. Something just isn't right with the engine stamp either

All good things to point out, but does any of it matter if it is a so called re-creation anyway?
I agree you want the vin to match the hidden vin and it to match the title, but all the other stuff seems like it wouldn't matter much?

Exactly, and my only issue with it.
Hate to see someone invest all the money and not be able to register it. Looks like there has been some poor bodywork in the area of the VIN tag; maybe the dash top was replaced.
For the record there have been issues with a few cars sold by Hendrick Performance over the years. They have always resolved the problems.

Engine appears to be a 1966 427/390hp, originally installed in a Corvette. Transmission is from a 1969 Chevelle, coded as an M20 originally. But the input shaft and cluster gear could easily have been swapped to make it an M21.
