Pinion yolk 10 bolt vs 12 bolt

Ok, finally installing OEM  (PI 1205G) 12 bolt with single hole radius rod bracket in my L48. The original has been missing since car was purchased in 1984, a 10 bolt had been install in in its place. Just noticed the pinion yolk U bolt holes are fractionally farther apart on the 12 vs. the 10. I'd rather get some real advice via this forum vs asking parts supply house on how to mitigate this problem. The 12 yolk also looks a little longer. My first intuition is the 12 bolt yoke is not original, so keeping that in mind, should a OEM 12 bolt, be a direct bolt up to a 10 bolt universal and drive shaft?

should be same U-bolts, for the same u-joint. I know in 69 they went to straps and bolts than 70 there was a larger yoke for 1350 U-Joints on some but not all IIRC

Make sure to measure before making a final purchase.

Original is a 1310 style of joint IIRC..  My 67 had an aftermarket on it (diff yoke) and I had to use a conversion u-joint to make it work.  But to answer your question they should be the same or interchangeable.

If the cups are the same size then this should be the correct one but please measure to make 100% sure.

If your cups are different sizes then this is the other option.  Again measure before assuming anything.
