68 FOLDING REAR SEAT
« on: April 19, 2016, 09:10:23 PM »
HEY GUYS! LOOKING FOR SOME INFO ON INSTALLING A FOLDING REAR SEAT WHICH I HAVE, INTO A BODY THAT DID NOT COME WITH IT. TRIED INSTALLING BUT THE SEAT BACK HITS THE BOTTOM AND WONT ALLOW IT TO FOLD BACK UP. IS THERE SUPPOSE TO BE A LOT OF TENSION ON THE SIDE BRACKETS THAT ALLOW IT TO FOLD?> ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I don't think there is supposed to be much, if any, tension on the side brackets. The last first gen I flipped was a factory fold down rear seat car and the back moved quite easily once unlatched. Hard to remember though this was 3 or 4 years ago and didn't have the car long.

You're going to have to post pictures of what's been done before we can help. Sounds like you don't have the floor brackets welded in the right place.

HERE are a few pictures I posted many years ago regarding the folding seat. They might help.
