Headliner bows
« on: February 07, 2016, 12:42:38 AM »
Was removing rear glass and noticed that the rear headliner bow didn't seem right. It was not arched up quite as much as others. I haven't dealt with headliner issues to date so kinda in the dark.
Seems as if the others are in a clip at center? Should the rear be also. Looked at a kit that shows 5 bows and 4 clips so not sure.

The rods snap into a plastic clips in the center of the roof (there is one very small rod that slides into metal fingers IIRC and it doesnt have a clip as it doesnt hook into the sides like the others.  Its the one you start with first when installing the headliner).  Sounds like one has popped out or wasnt in all the way and has rotated making it have the appearance of not having the arch.  I would feel around the headliner until you can feel the rod and see if it moves..  If it does then try to work it around to get it snapped back into the clip.

Darrell there are two bows behind the light. One just through rear of light and then two more behind it. The very rear bow is the one I'm asking about.

Brad, yes the rear bow snaps into a plastic piece that is attached to the metal roof. Due to being brittle yours might have fatigued and broke.
