The Clovin book states that the date stamping on Rally wheels started around 3/67. I have a 2/67.

There was a DG wheel discussion on this forum back in September:
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=12536.0

I've never seen a 67 model year DG wheel with a year stamp of 66, so I'm wondering if they just started that year & month stamp in January 1967?

They are said to have gone from a single to the 2 letter code at the start of 67. I have found a reference to the DF wheel and it's coding starting 3/1/67. Also that the actual application date code would be on the outside of the wheel. All dates on the inside were manufacture dates for that part of the wheel stamped.

So the question I guess should be, is this date code with the JJ between beads the same as the date code on the outside all other rally's? Is it the intended application date code?

Correct if you are referring to the outside under the trim ring.

Yes Steve that's my question. If so then why with the DG and DF wheel? No others?

The other wheel codes should follow suit meaning prior to 2/67 no date. I dont have any of the other early codes for proof.

Late 67's and mid 68's Z/28 cars had a DF code by the valve stem(no date) and the DF was upside down(facing inward). The rightside up DF started mid to late 68 and into the 69 model year.

jak,
Where did you find this data? Also where would be best place to pass on mine? I have a early 67 w/DG rally's. They also face inward and are to the left of stem. No other stamping found without breaking tire.
