I am searching to determine if my  68 is a z28?

There is nothing on a 68 trim tag to say one way or the other. Can you post more information on the drive train? Do you have the protectoplate? Tags still on the front springs? Anything you can post might help...Joe

Umygirl, post the infor. Joe (x66714 ) mentioned also click on the red CRG upper right this page, then click on (1968 Model ID) that gets you started on transforming you to your CRG education on 1st gen camaro's. You'll be amazed how much information is here.

Where are my manners.... Unygirlsherry1432. Welcome to the University of CRG where the education is free. We have professor Kurt S. and John Z. as well as many other faculty members, and lots of post graduates and under grads. to help you with your 1st gen. camaro guestions. :)

Welcome Umygirlsherry1432.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to determine if a 1968 Camaro is a Z28, unless the original engine is there.  There are other clues, but as was already posted, please tell us more details about the car and post some pics if you can.

Welcome to the CRG -

Some other quick clues:

Four leaf rear springs (if original springs). Newer appearing springs obviously trump this -
12 bolt rear dated to the car (could always be replaced or sourced, but dated rears don't grow on trees).
Muncie speedo cable location through firewall, plus a manual trans reverse harness (can be added, but some fakers don't remember all the time)
Rear bumper guards, or the holes through the rear panel if guards are missing. (can obviously be added, but people sometimes forget).

Gauges and tachs don't always indicate a Z, but if everything is there and dated to the car build, it just can add some possibilities.

We've had many discussions about '68's before: all of the above indicators can be added or faked - nothing works better than original paperwork from the State or previous owners (some of which can also be suspect). Good luck, and post what you can to let us shower you with opinions -
