In the 60's Chevelle, El Camino, Pontiac GTO, Olds. 442, plus some GMC trucks were produced there.

according to my book this is a '65 chevelle 327 300 hp.
it's dated L184, it had 461 heads.
casting number is 3782870.

i posted this because of the crooked alignment of the stamped numbers.
even the EB is a bit off of the rest of the engine code.
it's an original stamp, the block has never been decked.
just shows, perfect ani't always perfect.

Yes, Chevelles were built at the (Z) Fremont plant at that time and that's common for the stampings to be very irregular. My 66 SS Chevelle has the born with 396 325hp big block and the stampings look the same way.
My book decodes your block as you said, 327 300hp with manual trans.
