Throttle return spring Color
« on: April 09, 2014, 04:43:55 PM »
Hello Everyone'

I have been searching for the correct color for the return spring on a 69 350 SS with a Rochester Carb. HBC sells the spring bare metal and says it was brown from the factory . Can any one give me some insight as to what shade and gloss ?

 Thanks in advance, Rich

As much expertise that we have in this group I thought it would be a no brainer and I as well did search the threads before asking the question. Thanks for trying.
Is there a list or a set of rules or guide lines to go by when restoring ? I would like to do as many things correctly the first time around .

Jerry's books have a lot of details about paint etc., but I don't know if it has spring details in it.

The Ground Up restoration catalog lists the spring colors as 1967-69 Quadrajet--black. 1967-69 Holley--green. I don't know how accurate that is, but that's what the catalog lists. Perhaps you could contact them and find out more. Just a thought and good luck.
