Pace Car Yes/No
« on: September 10, 2006, 06:47:49 PM »
I just purchased a 1967 RS SS convertible and I have not been able to determine if its an genuine Pace Car or a dealership replica. I would appriciate any help, here's what the cowl tag looks like:

04A                     D340
67-12667        LOS-1788
        732-Z            C-1
       W2LG3SL
       4P-L181A

You need to contact THESE GUYS. They can give more info than I, but from what I see so far, everything looks good for a Pacer. It "may" even be an actual Indy 500 car since the Van Nuys assembly code (L181A), and the assembly date (04C) matches up perfectly! Send them an email and let us know...

Oh yeah, what's the VIN?

I don't have any digital pics yet, but the car has been repainted marana blue with black interior and does not have the numbers matching 350 motor. The car shows real nice, solid Nevada car.  Not sure yet if I'll return it to original condition.  Any idea what this car may be worth brought back to the original configuration?

It will be worth a lot more returned to original colors!
#'s look fine, no doubt it's an pace car replica (and built the same time as several others). Congrats!

I'd be curious what the trans and axle codes are. No hurry.
