Would anybody pay this much for this alternator? Seems a bit high even if it would be a good date for somebody that could use it. Kind of puts these out of any kind of range for me.

I've seen several auctions over the years from this seller - his prices are always way up there. I'd keep looking.

He wants more for this alternator than I have an original L78 block advertised for. Some people think gold is made from cast aluminum - I guess a few years ago, it could have been, when money flowed a little quicker. I have the same general problem trying to find a decent 814 alternator now -

It kind of makes you wonder if they are in it because of greed or are they trying to provide for their family. I've see the same people on ebay trying to sell the same stuff for the same prices for the past year or more. With the economy like it is these folks need to wake up and smell the coffee, unless they have and that's why the prices are so high.

There always those people out there with deep pockets and don't care what the price is. They just want the perfect part for there car. And that's what this seller is waiting for. This alternators been on e-bay for a long time. I've contacted the seller and made him offers on it but he won't budge. My problem is I'm not one of those people with the deep pockets. I have a shoe string budget.

Amen brother. Greed seems to be what's driving the hobby. Only the rich survive in it. Kind of sucks for the average Joe Ameicans that put their pants on the same as the rich do.
