« on: July 28, 2013, 04:32:05 PM »
If anyone is in the market for a nice 'mostly survivor' 69 Camaro, you should check out the ebay link below.   This is a Daytona yellow, black vinyl, 307, AC, with a few non-original item, car.. even has the original blue mfg sticker (10/69)..  57K miles...   appears to be a good value even at the buy it now price.

Back in the day, a good friends Girl-friend had one just like this with the DX 1 stripe on the front.  Was the  first time I had ever seen that stripe.  I'm thinking hers might have had Console and floor shift. Hers had the Rally wheels, was a real sporty looking car (except for the 307) LOL!  Was a nice "girls car" LOL!

There is nothing wrong with a 307/power glide..  ;-)

My 69 was the same setup.  Bought it from a 90 yr old woman in 1989..  It has/had ps, pb, AC, console & floor shifter.  Of course I've changed it to a 350, 4 speed, 12 bolt..  Lol.   Oh it too had the DX1 stripe as well.  It's been a great little grandma grocery getter car.  ;-)

Would you believe I saw her driving the car sometime in the mid-late 80's around the square ? I tied to catch up with her, but she was out-of-sight in a blink. I mentioned it to your dad many years ago that I had seen an elderly lady driving a green coupe around town - that's when I found out it was yours.

Small town, small world -

Steve

Lol that is funny.  Billy said he used to see her in it.  She would drive it up to Dix's Food Mart and get her groceries.  When we had finished it we took it over to her to see it and she said; "I see you put one of those humps on the hood (cowl hood) and a flip on the back (spoiler).  Only regret I have was not painting it back Frost Green but I was young and dumb..  Oh well, itll go back that color one day..

It was the color that I noticed first (I don't recall the striping - sign of advanced maturity) - I do believe it was the first time I had ever seen that color on a '69. It really is an atractive color, regardless of interior color IMO. I'm still partial to Le Mans, though - ask Sport what his favorite color is (I'm sure he'll answer Le Mans !).

Regards,
Steve

I do remember something about the wheels - did it not have a set of caps on it rather than ralleys ?

Yep it had the dog dish caps with painted rims.  Still have the rims somewhere in the collection of parts but dad sold the caps to a guy who had a COPO or a clone can't remember which.
