Glass Production Date

In checking the original LOF glass on my 04A (of 1969) Van Nuys car, I noticed quite a range in the production date codes:
Windshield: XV (Feb 69)
Backlight: VX (Dec 68)
Driver's Door: LV-10 (Mar 69)
Both Quarters: NV-10 (Jan 69)
Passenger's Door: CX-10 (Nov 68)
Is this normal, to see such a wide range in glass production dates, from November to March on an April-built car?

My 04A 1969 Van Nuys car has the following tinted LOF codes.....

Back window XV Feb '69
Drivers door AX Sept '68
Drivers 1/4 AX Sept '68
Pass door XV Feb '69
Pass 1/4 NV Jan '69

Original windshield has been replaced.

You might want to double check your XV and VX codes just to make sure you didn't transpose them. Also, you did not say whether your glass is tinted or clear.

My 02D '69 Norwood car has all of its original glass, and all of it is XV (12/68) except the back window, which is NV (3/69).

Here are the numbers for my 11C built (Nov. '68) 1969 SS

Drivers: AX
Drivers 1/4: YX
Passenger: YX
Passenger 1/4: AX
Rear: TX

With X being the correct year code for a 68 built car even though it is a 69 model year. and the month letter codes represents a 3 month range from Aug., Sept., and Oct. for a 11C Car.

The windshild has been replaced at some time with the correct LOF manufacturer but is a newer date coded.

Thanks for your replies; Warren's car has an even wider glass date range than mine, so perhaps there is nothing unusual in seeing this, especially in LA cars?

  I have a friend who installed Glass in new cars back in the '60's  and he told me that the Glass came in racks, and if the rack didn't get completely used up it would get pushed back into the storage area until needed again.  Quite often, when needed again the workers would just grab a full rack, thus eventually there could be several "partial" racks.  They would then move several "partials" to one rack, thus having several different Date Codes on one rack.  They were not concerned about matching Date Codes when these cars were built new.
