Correct finish for '69 rotors
« on: August 12, 2006, 03:05:32 AM »
Hey guys!

I recently found a set of quite pristine front two-piece rotors for my Camaro.  They were never turned and I took a very light
pass just to get them perfect.  Then, I put them on the steel abrader and cleaned them like new.  Question I have is over the
correct finish to be applied.

Should they be a natural cast color?  What about the wheel studs?  Were they black oxide, silver cad., etc.?  ???

I saw an NOS two-piece rotor on eBay recently, but I always question if the finish applied to service parts was the same as
that applied to production pieces.

Any thoughts or images you can share?

Thanks,
Steve

About 99.9% positive that that's the way they came from the factory, less a little rust.  Bare Steel, Black studs.
