40669 fuel pump

Anyone have a picture of an original z fuel pump? I bought this supposedly rebuilt one and it has 2 holes in each place where my replacement has a single hole. On the rebuilt one , these are more like indentions. The hole doesn't go anywhere. I thought these holes leaked gas if pump went bad

Not sure what you have but marine engine pumps have no holes at all. This is to keep fuel out of the bilge. When they leak it goes in the oil pan.

I have two fuel pumps. The one is some odd ball number and it has the two indents. My other, 40524, has two indents but one is deeper than the other. One is really just a surface mark. Mine is a 68 so I can't really show you a picture of a 69 one.

Those appear to be real holes. Mine for being rebuilt appears too nice.... I don't really want to fill pan with gas either

I looked a little closer and the rebuilt one has holes toward the front of the car. My 42080 has holes toward the rear like the original one pictured here with a single indention in 2 places on the front. This rebuilt one doesn't match anything so far
