The 1968 in the pictures is 516 Omaha orange. Mine is 519 Dark yellow.

Also, I read over on yenko site that a guy was able to obtain original sales docs on his 70 chevelle sold new at KR. He said it took some persistentance. KR is still in business, Mr Ross passed in 2017, his son Jimmy is still with the company.

I've had a heck of a time getting the correct 519 paint. Seems there are different mix codes for 519 depending on company. The guy that runs my local paint store said it's the first time he'd seen anything like it in 40 years in the business. It is definitely not like the PPG wheatland yellow code 519(too much like Daytona yellow). More like BASFs code 519 Yuma yellow.

That sticker is really cool! I looked closer and did find 2 small screws under the tail SS emblem. They are about 4 1/4 in apart. No emblem but the small screws are still there.

Ron,  I dont see where there was a Kenny Ross emblem on mine, but the salesmans sticker (John Baker) is on the bottom of the steering column. Does your car have the sticker on the bottom of the column?

  Ron,  Did your car have hockey stripes when new?  Also,  Kenny Ross is still in business.  I called about records and the person I spoke to didn't know of any but I was reading a post on the yenko site where a guy said he spoke to a few different people at KR and was able to obtain records on his 70 Chevelle.  He said they were all filed and stored in an off site facility.  I even thought of making a day out of it and driving there.  Also I sent you a PM.

Any pics Ron? Would love to see it. I believe mine is paint code 519 Chevy Truck dark yellow. Yours may be the same. Trying to attach link to interview Kenny Ross did about special paint etc. I'm still learning how to post lol

RS. Black deluxe. Console. Tach and gauge car. Remote mirror. Am radio with rear speaker option. Console 8 track. Power steering. No spoilers. Cowl hood. All original metal except drivers fendee which is old nos (still has sticker). I believe the paint would be code 519 Chevy truck dark yellow. One repaint, about to be 2. Does not have original rear (I think) not BE. I  thought it was a L78 and not copo because I've never seen a X22 copo. But I'm not positive. It's very close in vin to a few other copos and theres no holes in the original passenger fender for SS emblems plus all the other solid lifter signs. Either way it's a keeper.  I read in an old post that a guy was able to chase records on his car sold at Kenny Ross as they saved them and are still in business, so I'm going to give it a try. I read that Kenny Ross said he ordered alot of special paint, high horse cars as he was trying to attract the younger buyers and that 25 pct of his new car sales were performance cars.

 I know this post is a couple months old but I had to reply. I have a mustard yellow special paint 69 Camaro sold new at Kenny Ross. It's an RS with black deluxe interior and a 4 speed. The car does not have it's original motor but was at the very least an L78 car. X22 with all the solid lifter signs, cowl hood, no spoilers. Extremely solid car with amazing original interior.Salesman that sold it new was  John Baker, his sticker is still on the bottom of the steering column (ncrs also shows Kenny Ross). Build dateis VERY close to other late (Sept) copos. I know the OP hasn't been on in a few months but I thought it was worth a shot to leave this up in case he gets back on or someone else knows the car. Would love to hear anything. It's a pretty interesting car with a good amount of options. Thanks

 For the most part, I think NCRS records are accurate but there are definitely errors.  Ive had a couple recently. Most obvious is a report I received on a local sold Z from a small town next to me.  NCRS report says correct dealer and zone numbers, but dealer name is not correct.  This town, Winchester, IN, only had 1 Chevy dealership, Geyer. I know the salesman who sold it, same guy that sold ZL1 #68 and  I have docs and contacted NCRS but they were not interested in correcting.  Another 69 Z, sold new in AL, I have the correct dealer name that matches NCRS info and report, but they will not send new report with the dealer name on it, even though there are other reports with that dealers info and the same zone codes etc.  I think its a great tool, but far from ironclad, which could be bad when trying to help validate other docs that may be with a car.
