Sounds like the owner thinks the car is worth way more $$$ than it is. You can be honest with her and still risk insulting her. At least you know the lady and cash talks or offer to pay for an Alaskan cruise or something , maybe her ex never took her anywhere, Best of luck and that is a damn nice Bee you have

Guys, these are the times we live in. Im not saying that the younger crowd dislikes old cars, but I dont see the passion for it. Personally I think cost is the big reason. Dont want to get too political, but cost of living,-taxes, healthcare in particular is outrageous . Most of us probably had it thru our jobs and it wasn't a very big hit on the paycheck. Plus they have bad credit thus an everyday car just for job is $500-$800 a month. In plain talk They cant swing it

If you can get hold of another complete fuel tank unit and attach it to the wire outside of the tank, you should be able to move the needle in the gauge, float up- full - float down- empty .  should rule out wire all the way to gauge. Replaced the strainer filter on one in the tank and threw my readings off. Had to let the tank down a few times to get that unit set in the tank correctly   good luck

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Vin check

If the firewall is intact the windshield wiper motor or the hole for it, should be perfectly round then 67.  Oval is 68.  Have seen plenty of 68 marker lights removed and filled in to look like a 67    Is it possible to remove vent window from a 67 door and replace with 68-69 glass?    Best of luck Kiwi

Amazing that a 1 of 400-500 built car could end up like that. Glad to see you taking the challenge! I might have missed it, but do you know if it's an RS/SS 350 or 396?
I was hoping the vin could divulge the engine can you tell on the motor mounts? they look different as the driver side seems taller
Unless you can find some paperwork somewhere, the VIN isn't going to tell you much. The taller motor mount is definitely a good sign that it's a big block. You'll have to dig deeper though because that's a part that can easily have been unbolted and replaced. There are a lot of excellent resources out there that are going to be more than happy to help you research what might have come in it. Check out the orphan section to see if by chance the motor and tranny are out there. It's a start anyhow.
Also going to try to find last owner on title, he is the one that stripped it, even plan on going to last address out in rural area may still be pile of parts... BTW read another post that you did a solid favor for another Camaro guy      salute

My problem is, having what is like Beer Goggles , I can`t see the car for what it is ,but rather what it was or could be again....then wind up married to it

If it was my call, the Camaro would have the same frame and IRS differential as the 63-67 Corvette

Did you get the block or trans with it?
No eng. or trans.  I think the 12 bolt is correct and will post photos of codes and vin first chance I get. I do have the title and need to track down the guy that pulled a lot of parts to race it, long shot for sure,  as the seller I got it from was a serious Camaro-hound and knew a lot of these
