congratulation! A very nice car. My next project is a red 67 very similar to yours. The closer to original the better.

Mild Modifications / Re: Prothane poly bushings in leafsprings
« on: September 17, 2018, 02:31:24 PM »
I rebuilt a set of rear leaf springs and used the poly bushings and had the same results. I also added a rear sway bar. I was told how much better it would handle. Put it in a curve with uneven pavement and came extremely close to crashing my car. Today those bushings and sway bar are packed away in my garage.

Restoration / Re: 1969 Dash Carrier Restoration Source

There is a lot of good info on the dash carrier here. I just finished one on my 69. I must say being a maintenance tech in a auto plant that the process of manufacturing has come a long way. I decided to buy a carrier rather than ship out. My carrier was just to brittle from time and I guess the summer heat. Anyone doing this yourself just take your time. Take pictures before and just try and have fun with it. I had to cut out for clock, tach, and defroster switch and that made mine a little harder but now it's on the next project.

I have a 69 Camaro with 3.07 12 bolt same as yours. My car is original and it is a X11 SS-350. The engine code is HB.

I watched the video's and really enjoyed them. Nice work. I was just a kid in the 60's but I have had a love for the Camaro ever since I can remember. I still have my 69 SS that I drove in high school.

General Discussion / Re: Multi leaf springs.

Kurt the car was built first day of production. It did not have radius rod. Since it's been changed to 4 speed and rear purch is broken I was thinking multi leafs might work better. I've read about monos that have good reviews.

Kurt the reason is the 67 has a broken saddle on the right side of rear end. In my extra parts over the years I kept a 69 front subframe and 12 bolt posi. My dad has a 67 RS all original and they seem too soft for me.  I'm thinking with good power they would be best.

I want to change over to multi leaf springs on a 67. I will put in a 69 12 bolt. I know I will most likely need longer u bolts.  What else will I need for this conversion and where would you purchase from?

Talked to previous owner. He changed car to 4 speed. Car later came out of gear rolled into tree bending front fender. He soon busted tranny. Friend offered good price for engine so he sold it and called me to buy the rest. Mystery solved.
