Hey guys,
    Well, I decided to put my 69 Z28 back to stock.  Put the dz motor back in last Saturday and fired it up last night.   Started right up. I set the timing , broke in the cam and it went perfect.  Drove it and when it got up to temperature the car started to run rich and was trying to stall.
   I pulled over and the choke was closing.    Its like it works in reverse.   As the motor warms up the choke coil pushes the choke rod up closing the choke flap.   I THINK the coil should be up and pull the rod down as the engine warms opening the choke flap.    The repop choke kit I bought was ordered for a 69 302.   Could they be packaging them wrong?    Please help !   Thanks !   Steve

 looked at a car today that was built 11D of 1968 .    54xxxx VIN.   A cowl hood yenko/copo car.   How can this be a legit car with this build date/VIN?
   I thought the first cowl hood was on the first ZL1 which I believe was a January car.    Could this be legit?   Steve

   Yes I'm in Sarasota. been here forever and have known phil since 1984 or so.   We have both had a few Camaros over the years.   If you need help with anything let me know.   I know a little about dz motors too.

I know the car well.  knew tommy parkin well.  He passed about 6 or 7 years ago.   I went with a buddy of mine about 1995 to look at the car for him to buy it.  I was amazed about all the original parts from it. 
   The original motor was at a local machine shop forever and I believe Phil had to retrieve it from there.   I think there was only 1 head as one was cracked??  No biggie.  After we looked at it tommy got cold feet and backed out.   Love the dusk Blue !!!  A true Z28 for sure.   There are so many fakes out there nowadays that when ever I see one I try to see how many things are fake on the car.   Phil finally sold it as he always has too many projects going.

 Hey guys.  I'm trying to button up my interior on my 69 4 speed car.  No console.   I cant find a view on how the shifter boor goes.   My car has the original  floor and the 4 original screw holes still in it.
    What I need to know is ...   does it go retainer on top then rubber boot flange then carpet then the second rubber flange on the boot then the floor?   There are 2 rubber flanges (or lips) on the factory shifter boot.
   Any help please??    thanks !  Steve

 I know the dz block on craigslist.   Its .030 over and measures 4.031-4.032 as it is now.    About a year ago I sent the deck pictures to Jerry and he said it appeared to be a restamp.   whoever did it did a pretty good job though.
   has a steel 350 crank and 11:1 pistons in it.     its a 355 now.     Hope this helps.    Steve

     hey guys.      working on my 69 Camaro that I bought in boxes last year.    The front doors are missing the 2 pieces that protect the glass as it slides up and down.    They are steel plates , one on the front and one on the rear of each door.   Held on by two small screws on the top.  the door fuzzy actually covers the screws and they are covered with a material that looks like canvas.     Anybody know what they are called and where they can be purchaced?      thanks!   Steve
