Originality / Non-SS '69 with 10 bolt and multileaf
« on: January 07, 2010, 02:28:59 PM »
First off, I thought this should go in the research forum but there is not button for starting a new topic. This is simply a notification of the following request on the chassis page:
"Note: GM documentation indicates that 1969 SS350s and LM1s with automatic transmissions received a 10-bolt rear axle. So far only SS350 cars with Powerglides have been observed to consistently have 10 bolt axles. Please contact us if you have a 1969 car with this drivetrain."
I have a 1969 model with not much documentation other than the trim tag. It's a Norwood car with X44 code. I do not believe it was an SS.
The engine block and transmission are not original ('78 block and '68 M20 with hacked hole for shifter by p.o.) however I believe the cylinder heads, rear end, and rear suspension are original.
Cylinder heads: 3932441 (indicate I believe either 250 or 255 hp motor)
Rear end : L188 date code, PB0102G1 axle tube code, 10 bolt
5 leaf multileaf suspension
Sorry if this is the wrong place. The webpage requested that this be posted in the forum.
