I am a newbie here & appreciate this site for the help from you seasoned pro's.
I am converting the manual drums on my '69 to power disc. All items are new from the pedal out, including the disc assemblys, booster/ MC/ prop valve/ hold off, and all lines and hoses. I have 2 questions which I have not found answers to by searching the site.
1). It seems to me, on most cars, the pedal height on power brake equipped cars is closer to the floor (at rest) than on those equipped with manual brakes. Is this not the case with Camaros? As the brake light switch is activated at the top of the pedal travel, for the pedal height to change, there would have to be some part or adjustment I am missing. Can you please advise on this? FWIW, I have an auto trans & pedal.
2). With the dist valve, prop valve under the M/C, and the hold-off valve on the frame (2 piece rear brake line), will I be able to bleed the system with a vacuum pump bleeder kit? As all lines are empty, I think this is the best and easiest way to bleed vs. the 2 person M/C pump method. Will a hand pump bleeder overcome all the valves' restrictions? Any first hand experience with this will be appreciated.
Thanks again in advance for your help. Great site!!
