Dear all,

after some ionvestigations, i have now solved the problem; as described, it ocurred only when accelerating...
I first checked the tranny-oilpan and the filter for debris - nothing. At all...

The i closely checked the flexplate for cracks aso... nothing. By coincidence, i noticed some blank metal marks on some of the tooths on the ring gear. I looked up on the startermotor, and noticed, that the centerbolt of the shift fork had fallen out... this caused the starter drive gear to "slash" back and forth- and of course, when accelerating, the starter drive gear hit the ring gear- causing this very (expensive) noise...   

After mounting a new bolt in the hole, the car now runs smooth again- and i enjoy my 230 brake HP, measured on the wheels, in the beautiful danish summer ! :-)

After a dynotest with engine adjustment and afterward an output test, i have unfortuately got an ugly noise from the gearbox or converter. The noise is only there, when the engine is pulling (when the car drives). It sounds a bit like a piece of sheetmetal hitting every second spoke in a bicyclewheel...

I did check the flexplate, and there are no cracks or missing parts- or parts hitting each other...

There aren't any other problems, the tranny (th 350 standard gearbox) is, apart from this noise, working perfectly, and the engine is pulling allrigth..

Anyone with a good idea to the cause?

Ders forum,
After a dynotest with engine adjustment and an output test, i have unfortuately got an ugly noise from the gearbox or converter. The noise is only there, when the engine is pulling (lever in D). It sounds a bit like a piece of metal hitting the spokes in a bicyclewheel...

I did check the flexplate, and there are no cracks or messing parts- or parts hitting each other...

There aren't any other problems, the tranny (th 350 standard gearbox) is, apart from this noise, working perfectly, and the engine is pulling allrigth..

Anyone with a good idea to the cause?

Tanks a lot, i Will have to split up the harness wrapping, 'cause i do not have this resistance wire, or the other ones. The wire-ends Might have been extended with other colors...

Restoration / Colour codes in the wiring diagramme- 69 Camaro

Hi,

can anyone supply me with the colors of the wires in the diagramme (i purchased the wiring diagramme book "Jim Osborn-version")- can only see the abbreviations, and iīm appearntly not sharp enough to figure out the color of the wire, only from the abbreviation.

And what about the wiresizes? I have got numbers from 6 to 20...
From the battery i have "14R", "6B", "12B" and so on... 

These are the abbreviations, please correct me, if wrong:
B (Black), R (Red), W (White), BRN (Brown), OR (Orange), DG (DarkGreen), LG (LigthGreen), DBL (DarkBlue), LBL (LigthBlue), Y (Yellow),   

BUT what is "T", "P/B", and "W-OR/PPL TR" ?

thanks for your quick answer, and yes- i never got any reply back then...

Sure i can live with my missing tag- but itīs again approaching wintertime, the car is in the garage, and iīm doing some small (never ending?..) corrections... and then again i stumbled over my missing tag...my most annoying thing with my car (although iīm happy with it, and it has been giving us some real good times, through the years...)

It seems i have to live with it- i will now try to match my VIN with the partial vinīs- i never have tried this out... hopefully i will not be disappointed ! Imagine the VIN is not matching the partial VINīs ... Uhh.

Thanks for the greatest Camaro forum- Itīs got "customers" even from little Denmark... ;-)

PS. Posted a small picture form our Westcoast- where it is allowed to drive on the beach. The photo is actually taken on the "interstate" of the area, running over 12 kilometres on the beach...

my 69 cab is missing the cowl tag- can it be reproduced, only with the information given from the VIN? In case yes, by whom, and where?

Hi again,

have posted a picture of the rigth side of the gearbox. Seems to be a Saginaw...

Is this worse or better than a Muncie? Any known weaknesses of the Saginaw 4-speed? Can i test it, without building it in, somehow?

anyone who can see, which type of gearbox we have here? Saginaw or Muncie? Anyone with experience regarding this type of gearbox? Good as well as bad....

How can i see if itīs a 3- or 4 speed?

"11N" appears to be correct, so it should be a 71īCamaro 350/270hp.

Hi Sam,

thanks very much for your tips, it all seems very helpful.

I have in the meantime now been restoring the sats frames and the two outer springs under the seat buns (with a originally-looking spring) as they were both broken.

The tip with the dry-cleaners bag seems also very helpful; i tried to do a pre-install of the covers over the foam, and it seemed almost impossible !!

I think a will not install the "fine treadings", because the "sack-lining" has almost disapeared; there will be no hold on to them.

I also think, i will have to renew both covers, as the lining underneat (as well as the reinforce-linings) also has disappeared (the covers itselves where actually rather OK).

When i have finished the seats, i will but a comment back on this page, with som further infosī
