General Discussion / Car Inspection Companies for Pennsylvania
« on: September 12, 2007, 01:46:57 PM »
Hi,

I'm from Australia and I need a reputable company to perform a car inspection on a 67 Camaro RS/SS I'm looking at buying.  I need this company to do a mechanical inspection as well as being able to tell me if the car is real or a clone.  Does anyone know of any good companies that do this?

Thanks

Thanks KurtS!  How did you find out that information?  I never knew that small block and big block engine codes were swapped around.  Good to know though.

Decoding/Numbers / 1967 Camaro RS/SS Engine Decoding Question
« on: September 11, 2007, 03:11:37 AM »
Hi Guys,

I'm from Australia and I'm looking at buying a 1967 Camaro RS/SS big block car.  The guy has sent me some photo's of the cowl tag, and also the partial VIN and engine code.  I've used chevy-camaro.com to decode the car, and it appears that the cowl tag and engine codes are correct, but on their website they have a picture of the engine code and partial VIN and in the picture the partial VIN is on the right hand side and the engine code is on the left (see the attachment).  The car I'm looking at is the opposite.  The engine code is on the right and partial VIN is on the left.  Does this mean the engine is not the original?  They're selling it as a "matching numbers car".

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Mal
