This is cool! If I give you my vin, can you search for a real invoice?

The part number on the decal is 3917572 and their is a "G" in the middle of the bowtie. Does this help?

The glove box decal is there, but no tire size is mentioned, just pressure and number of vehicle in car, etc. I thought that they did not start the wheel size until 1968, but I could be wrong.

You might want to try contacting Camaro clubs in areas where the car was known to reside. There are several clubs around- maybe someone remembers the car. Just look at the story Jerry MacNeish relates on his web site Ref his latest aquisition!

Good luck. And, if the car was in the Dallas area, let me know- maybe I can help.

Thank you very much!

does the car have a factory tach? if so where does the redline start?then look at the heater core cover,is it a small block heater core with the tubes on the right side of the cover or is it a big block core with the  outlets in the center of the cover?  ???

Thank you. It no longer has a factory tack. The heater core is for a small block. I have been able to verify that the vin number does fall within the production run of the Z28's built in Norwood.

Bob,
Not sure what part of Colorado you live in, but there is a Camaro club based in the Denver area.  Between Jerry Mac and Larry Christiansen (sp?), you have two of the best Camaro resources in the world.  There is a car show in Arvada this weekend and the Colorado Camaro Club will be in attendance.  Not sure if Jerry or Larry will be there, but there should be some good people there to talk to, show pics to, etc.  Good luck.

Thank you for the info.

I am the owner of what I think to be a real 1967 Z28. The issue is
that when I purchased the car 7 years ago, the trim tag was missing. I
assumed is was originally an RS SS car, so a badged it accordingly. It
does have the original bracket for the rear support arm to the diff,
making it a 12 bolt car. It did originally have a 4 speed, still has the
original disc brakes and manual steering. When I was doing an engine
swap this summer, I found a hole that had been covered up on the top right
of the firewall. It was a hole about 2" tall by 10" long. I am
currently trying to track down the previous owner who used to race the car. It
is still a very solid street car. It now has a 350 / 4 speed / 12 bolt rear and none of these were in the car when I purchased it. It is  a  Norwood car. I purchaed it in Illinois, it spent some time in Texas with the previous owner and I live in Colorado. Any ideas on tracking down some
supporting documentation?? I have sent letters to the previous owner, no response. Vin number: 124377N251190
