I own an LOS 67 and have had some roll through my shop and did rotisserie restorations on them. They had virgin, untouched original black bellies. Curious about the percentage of cars that had blue bottoms.
I have a ‘68 second week of December ‘67 build and the bottom of the car is also black. If fact it’s the same color as the firewall.

I bought a set from Rick's before the buyout. They are identical to the originals they replaced.  ;D

Original manual transmission cars had a stamped hole that left a "lip" approximately 1/8" wide that was directed downward for rigidity.

I had the same problem with the length of the rod also, too long. I just bent it to fit. It works fine, just doesn't fit like an original one.

Jerry is right about using the EOS. I'm using the crane version. The first one I didn't use EOS & the cam went flat right away. BTW the crane version seems to make lots of power :)
