Car looks good Jon...you have come a long way...I saw the collectible offered the other day in Cali car cover and was thinking about you...I enjoyed the video.

What to do with them once they are done is a challenge- mine gets out to a local Concours once a year, some years a bit more use.

Yours may be a bit noisy for that...congratulations!

I'll have my '67 "next door" at the Concours on Sunday. Weather looks hot..84 degrees for Napa on Sunday.

Tough competition with all the Corvette excitement this year...I think expectations are for 3-400 to circle the track...

If your looking for data...my 67 LOS 3D SB Coupe had tags..the upper half mostly intact..the lowers missing with a remaining groove from the undercoating "overspray" which remains on the springs today...ugh..

My 3D LOS car was blessed with three. One was bent over...the "factory" undercoating seemed to preserve the two lower ones.

I look at wrecking yards for them as well, as one of mine is in rough shape...and I remember Lynn looking for some a while back.
Unfortunately I have never seen one on another car...

Did it look like an original?  Do you know Jim?

My old one came off in pieces and was bagged long before the new one was installed. I didn't compare them side by side if thats what you mean.
The holes lined up on the heater box and the drivers side fit well all at the same time . The material appears heavy like the original.
I deplore repop stuff and was pleased with this product. I purchased NOS or used items exclusively from Jim over a period of 7 years which is what it took to complete my resto...so thats the extent to which I know him..His product knowledge and parts availability kept me coming back...

I purchased one (assume molded) for my '67 from Jim about 3 yrs ago.
It was spectacular in fit, finish and weight  .

Most of mine (3D LOS car) were covered with undercoating but looked similar to the one above when clean.
I chose "dull silver cad" for replating.

An AM radio may indicate a rear antenna car..should have an S on the trim tag (on the firewall) in that case..maybe the quarter hole was filled when the spoiler was added...just a thought. Or no radio car as suggested.
The spoiler would hit the antenna when trunklid open all the way. I had both in the day..antenna was a (not original) wire whip which I pushed out of the way...(Photo of my rear antenna car on homepage if unfamiliar with location...)

On Camaros, yes - four in the pan, one in the filter.

Thought so...thanks....my dipstick must of gotten spoiled all the years with a spin on..it reads about a pint low with the canister...original pan...

i had the cannister on my car after the restoration, but quickly went back to the spin on filter. very difficult to get that thin dental floss O ring to seal correctly. wasnt worth the effort IMHO>

You must have had some oddball O-ring; the correct one that comes with name-brand filter elements is square in cross-section, fits well in the groove, and seals well with an original canister. About 25 million engines used the canister oil filter, including '65-'67 big-blocks, with no field problems; I've been changing them since 1957, and have never had one leak.

I had one leak in the late 70's when I was a wee child. Oil pressure dropped suddenly after an oil change. I kept up the revs to get home..just a few miles away.. which kept the pressure up- but likely accelerated the leak!
I put the canister on now with car on lift so I can see what I am doing...and overcome the spring pressure to keep canister seated on the "quad-ring".

I am running a canister after my resto...seems like it takes 5 1/2 qts now to be full on the dipstick.
Didn't recall that it needed that much oil back in the day.
You have to be careful to get the Oring sealed properly during install and getting the old one out is sometimes a pain.

Lares is in Cambridge Mn which is almost Michigan . They did nice work on my '67.
