It seems like the consensus is 3841177. I got the 3893560 number from a guy selling an entire original system (front & rears drums, backing plate/shoe assembly, front knuckles and lines) from a 67 camaro, Norwood, June 67 build. You can look at the system on eBay, it is still listed with pics. He is converting to a disc brake system, front and rear. I just bought 2 rears (cn 3841177) on eBay and I'll be using those. Thanks Tom. Can you tell me what the 'interchange book' you referenced is? Is there a source where I could get a copy. I'm trying to figure out what casting part numbers could be found on 67 camaro's with rear drum brakes. So far I have three number that are possible: 3841177, 3893560 and your number 3987445. All 9-1/2 x 2, non finned. What I don't know is if the first two were for metallic or non-metallic. Thanks.. Dan

Thanks for the info. Was that casting part number unique to Camaro, or was it also used on 67 Chevelle, Nova, Firebird, etc. Is there a source which explains usage? Thanks.. Dan

Does anyone know what numbers should be cast into the rear brake drums of a 1967 ss350rs coupe, power manual brakes, manual steering? The vehicle is a Van Nuys build, 2nd week in February 67 build. I'm thinking the number should be 3893560, W-2X. Thanks.. Dan

I have a 67 RS/SS 350, butternut yellow with black vynl top. I have same question on rocker black out start/stop at the front fender and rear quarter wheel opening. Does anyone have any pics on those details??? I'm ready to paint but need to know the start/stop details. Thanks

I have a 67 SS/RS, butternut yellow w/black vinyl top. I have read the Z22 black-out paint information regarding the rocker panel/body sill area. My question is where can I get the details of where the semi-gloss paint is SUPPOSE to start/stop? Does the black paint start UNDER or BELOW the horizontal trim and wrap around the wheel opening and then wrap under the vehicle? Thanks.. Dan

Try putting some sound deadening material on the underside of the plastic slider plate. I used the same stuff that I used on the inside of my door panels. It comes in 12x12 sheets (?) and is sticky on one side. It's kind of a rubber mat and can be cut with siccors of exacto blade. It worked for me! Good luck

Restoration / Correct SS350 Motor Mounts ?? Posi Tag Loaction

I have a 67 SS350/RS vehicle. How can I tell if I have the correct motor mounts and brackets? I just received a Gardner exhaust system (dual w/resonators) and the right exhaust pipe from the heat riser is line-to-line where it passes under the transmission mounting support.    The rest of the right bank is OK. Left bank is perfect in every way!! Although I can send the pipe back to Gardner to have them check it, I want to make sure other things which could affect the issue are correct!

Also, what is the correct posi tag ID on the rear axle? I have a 3.31:1 and have both the stamped metal tag that goes on the cover pan and the red plastic filler plug (1 inch) tag? Also, which bolt does the metal tag go on if that is the correct one??

Thanks.... The water pump has been rebuilt, so that probably needs to be adjusted. As for the alternator, I believe the bracket (aftermarket) is wrong! Since I have two, I can cut and weld to properly locate the alternator pulley. Dan

Does anyone know if there is a specification regarding the alignment of the harmonic balancer, water pump and alternator pulleys? I have a 67 350 SS, no a.i.r., no a/c, no power steering and no fan clutch. Matching number engine and parts when assembled has the water pump pulley about 3/16 inch forward of the harmonic balancer pulley. Also, the alternator pulley is rearward of the other two by about 1/4 inch. Although the belt can be installed normally and looks like it would work, it just does't look right. Seems like they should all be aligned with-in the same plane by about an 1/8th or less. Anyone have any thoughts?/ Thanks - Dan

I have a 1967 SS350 w/o ac, air pump or p/s. Does anyone know what the two fasterners are that mounts the alt. bracket to the engine? I assume it takes one bolt into the intake and one bolt in the water pump, with the water pump bolt head painted orange. Or is the water pump fastener a bolt with a stud for the bracket, similiar to the ground battery cable mount to the water pump on the RH side of the water pump, top fastener? Small detail, but no repo fasteners kits for the water pump include a bolt/stud fastener for the alt bracket at the water pump. Thanks.. Dan

Does anyone know the color of the two spark plug wire rounting brackets should be for a 67 350 SS/RS. They are located at the rear of the intake on the left and right hand side of the engine intake manifold? Seems like they should be orange, but I wan't to be sure. Thanks.. Dan

Looking to find the correct paint color on the following engine items for a 1967 RS/SS 350/295 w/ 4spd: 1/Oil dipstick TUBE that is pressed into the block and 2/ Mounting plate for the fuel pump. Vehicle is a Feb '67 build. Thanks... Dan
