Restoration / 67 Radius Rod
« on: March 10, 2006, 01:05:52 PM »
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know where I can get new bushings for my 67 Radius Rod. The original ones are shrinking and cracking and I would like to replace them.
Thanks

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 67 SS350 Engine numbers
« on: February 28, 2006, 01:12:11 AM »
Thanks again for all the help and guidance
The complete engine came today and the numbers were as you all said Block 3892657 Partial vin
7N123357 and V0803MS heads were 3890462, intake 3905393. The only thing I'm not sure about is the crank it is not 1182 it's 2690. Colvins book pg.83 the 19th crank down lists 3892690.
Could this be the orig. crank it is def. forged steel and also does that partial vin and other engine number sound correct.

Originality / Fan for 67 SS350
« on: February 15, 2006, 04:18:19 AM »
Hey Guys
Does anyone know if the 67 SS350 motor origionally came with a 4 blade fixed fan or a 5 blade clutch fan.
The car is a 4 speed(M20). Also was the air breather cover chrome or black and what about the valve covers chrome or orange?
Thanks

Thank you for the responses....but I am slightly still confused. Car and parts magazine "Catalog of Chevy V-8 Engine casting numbers" on page 14 shows 3858174 being used for 67 Camaro 350.
Further down the same page it shows 3892657 only used for 327 and ,302. Is this refrence not accurate or dependable. What should I be refering to besides the web?  Motor is supposed to ship next week and I dont want to screw this up..
Thank You

Decoding/Numbers / 67 SS350 Engine numbers
« on: February 02, 2006, 09:22:07 PM »
Just at the end of an 18month extensive restoration of My 67 SS 350 My motor was stolen (along with a bunch of others) from the machine shop doing the restoration-rebuild on it.
I found another motor that the seller claims is from Another SS350
The numbers are as follows
Block          3858174      2 bolt mains    large journal crank  cast date dec 66
Heads         3817782      camel hump cast same as motor
intake         3905393      cast same as motor

Any way to tell if this is an authentic 67 SS350 Motor?
