General Discussion / Core support differences?
« on: November 29, 2008, 03:33:22 AM »
I think not, but here goes.  Is there any differences in the radiator core support be it an a/c or non a/c camaro?  Differences in the yrs. for the support?  Radiator hole opening size?  I know the mounting holes are different for SB and BB radiators.

Originality / Do BB and SB radiators use the same mounting holes?

I have a 69 camaro with a SB in it.  I see the BB radiators are a bit larger but am wondering if the two radiators use the same mounting holes?  Or do BB's use a different core support?

Originality / Re: Rear brake line flex hose mounting bracket

The 69 assembly manual, the section covering the std. and HD Rear Axle Brake Pipes, page 65, calls out this bracket as P/N-3954381. Below is a picture for reference.  It also shows another clip P/N-3956700 securing the RH pipe at the first cover bolt just past the 12:00 position.  As attached a pic.  These two items were original on my 69Z.  Bracket 3954381 was not painted, rusty and pitted.  I ordered a repro #BR-8 from Rick's 1st Generatation, now priced at $15.99.

You may also need the bracket P/N-3953281, that holds the flex hose to the underside of the body, at the point where the flex hose interfaces with the steel line hose. Ref. Rick's 1st Gen. #BR-35, $25.99.

Its been noted that Rick's 1st Gen has changed hands and prices have taken quite a jump.  You can visit: www.rickscamaros.com, or contact them at 800-359-7717.

JohnZ....are these bracket not common among all 69's?

Thanks for the pics.  I was looking for information on the bracket that mounts the flex brake line to the differential.  In changing from my 8.2 rear to a 12 bolt, my old mounting bracket from the flex hose does not work I also have the metal strap as shown in your last pic.  Your second to the last pic, is that from the front of the car hard line back to the flex hose?  I am waiting for my part from NPD.  Have used Rick's in the past, but have seen a lot of posts on their issues.  Just trying someone new.  Thanks again.

Originality / Rear brake line flex hose mounting bracket
« on: December 28, 2007, 02:23:01 PM »
I have a 69 in which it had a 8.2 rear end with mono leafs.  I am replacing the rear with a 12 bolt multi leaf rear end.  My question is, is the mounting bracket for the rear flex brake line hose that attaches to the differential different?  If they are different where might I find one and what part number would I be looking at?  My existing bracket doesn't come close to any of the differential holes.  Thanks

I have a 69 camaro witha different year column.  Can you help me id it?  It has the signals and hi/lo beam together in the lever and has cruise.  It is also a tilt column.  The only numbers that I can see stamped on it are A-8.

Decoding/Numbers / Rear axle decode question.
« on: April 01, 2007, 02:12:59 PM »
Yesterday I was working on the rear axle on my 69 camaro.  And got these numbers off of the housing and axle.  On the front of the pass. side axle were stamped C BP 1017 G1.  The best I can figure out is that it is a 2.73 ratio, 10 bolt non posi, Oct. 17, Detroit Gear 1st shift.  What does the C stand for?  My casting # is J89, foundry control # is CON1, test marks of 67890 and 12345.  What do those numbers mean?  Thanks.

Originality / Re: Cruise control?

Thanks, because I was finding some cruise control modules and vacuum lines on my car.  But not everything was hooked up.  I was also seeing some pictures in my 69 camaro factory repair manual of the same parts.  But not seeing cruise control in pictures of peoples cars.  Thanks again.   :)
