Clearly the 7's and the 8's are not factory on these two distributors.

I thought it was a little questionable as the normal "lathe" lines are missing and the characters are different depths.

Thanks, I've seen that post but, it doesn't mention when the floating pins started in '68.
What month was your friend's engine with the pressed pins?

Newbie here but, have been following the forum for years.
1st time question. I've read many posts that state Chevy went to floating wrist pins in late 1968 (and all thru 1969) for the 302 but, what Month in the '68 model year is actually considered late? Is it safe to assume that "late" indicates the last 4 months of manufacturing? Any examples out there?
