Yeah, you're right. I had forgotten. There was no tire size designation on the glove-box sticker. An identifying letter was placed inside the sticker bow-tie for differing tire applications wasn't it? Thanks for the info on the Z.

Jon,
Do you happen to know off the cuff if it was just the standard 7.35-14 glove-box sticker?
Thanks,
Brett

Thanks John. Very interesting that your car got the second edition since there is no reference to the L35 in that edition.
Then again, your car is a very early L35.

I remember judging this Camaro at an International Camaro Club event at Pocono Manor in 1997. It was a beautiful, solid car. I remember it displaying more originality at that time. But hey, that was 20 years ago. Wow, time flies.

I'm guessing that all Z/28's got the third edition since the Z and the 396's were announced about the same time.
It just seems odd that the Z's would have received an owner's manual that did not include their engine specs or tire size.
Tell me, do Z's have a 7.35-15 glovebox sticker?

It would be real cool to be able to determine the dates that the different manuals actually went into glove-boxes.

The 1967 model year saw three different owners manuals.
PN 3901026, First Edition, July, 1966
PN 3901026, Second Edition, November, 1966
PN3929232, Third Edition, April 1967
I think that the big problem with the first edition was on page 35. The tire usage and recommended tire inflation pressures lists 1 to 5 passengers.
On Valentines Day of 1967, GM execs with their hair on fire issued a technical bulletin and began correcting glove box tire pressure stickers and issuing directives to dealers to remove any back seat center seat belts that may have been installed by dealers. The Second Edition was born.
The second edition wasn't much different. The number of passengers issue was cleaned up and Chevrolet correct a picture of the distributor on page 45 of the first edition that was described as a V-8 but that was actually a picture of a six cylinder engine.  Also on page 17 of the first edition the brake warning light was called a parking brake alarm indicator light. I guess calling it an alarm was a bit severe and that was cleaned up in the second edition.
The third edition was mostly impacted by the edition of the 396 engines and the Turbo Hydra-Matic. Pages 40, 47 and 48 reflect the changes. Procedures to push start the car were also eliminated on page 7.
There is still no mention of the Z/28 in the third edition. Anybody know what was tossed in the a 67 Z/28 glove box?

Thanks Kurt. Looks good. I'll try to post in the right place from now on. :)
Got some stuff I want to share on 67 Owners' manuals.

General Discussion / 67 SS Wheel Cover P01BA
« on: December 06, 2019, 06:46:24 PM »

I have an original, unrestored 1967 L35 RS/SS with 19,450 miles on the clock. When dad purchased the car new, it was wearing SS wheel covers. When I began showing the car in the early 90's, I was told by several authoritative sources that the "68" wheel covers were not correct for the car. Fast forward to last week when I was flipping through my taped-up, dog-eared Assembly Instruction Manual and was surprised that for over two decades I had largely over looked page 11, Miscellaneous Shipping List. The second part listed on the page is RPO P01, COVER UNIT - WHL TRIM and the eleventh part listed is RPO P01, COVER UNIT - WHL TRIM. Part number 3893121 vs. part number 3871173.  If you look at the DIVISION RECORD in the lower right corner of the page, 3871173 was added on 5-1-67, very late in the model year. ( My car is an 06C car) Looking back at the 11th item, the AIM states that 3871173 was specific to MODELS  RPO L48, L34, L35 & L78. All are, of course, SS cars.
Further snooping by Kurt verified that P01BA was in fact introduced in April of 1967.
If anyone knows of any other late 67 SS cars wearing SS wheel covers or has circa 67 photographs of SS Camaros with these P01's, I would very much appreciate a response.
Thanks,
Brett
