That is quite the find. Congrats. There must have been something about that white paint that was very porous because mine looked the same way, except many rusted through holes because of salt in WI (rs convertible, but not SS). Mine had the same trailer hitch on it. Were there any other parts to the hitch besides what is seen from the back? I have heard that there were other braces that went under the gas tank and up to the trunk floor for extra support, but mine did not have those extra parts. I'm just curious if you had the other braces.
