Thanks Ed, I kinda thought that when I got it, but it was cheap and It is closer than what I have now so I will probably use it.  I did read the link but the ebay pics were not great so I was hoping...

It is the one correct option I am missing for my highly optioned car.  Appreciate the info!!

Decoding/Numbers / 1967 Manual disc brake master cylinder questions
« on: October 19, 2019, 03:19:22 PM »
I have a 1967 Camaro that has manual front disc brakes but has the wrong master cylinder.  I have been looking for the correct 5459467 master cylinder for years and one popped up on ebay a few days ago.  I bought it and wanted to run it by the forum to see if it is correct and get some help decoding the other numbers on it.

I tried attaching the photos but no matter how I resized them I could not get all of them to attach to the post so here is a Google Photos link:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't plan to add any options that did not come with the car other than possibly a power brake booster.  I WILL however have two trunks painted, one with and one without a spoiler :)

I will also add some modern safety belts (Morris Concept most likely) since I plan to drive it a good bit.  Jay

It came up on Craiglist out of the blue and I went with cash.  It did not have the original engine but I back tracked it two owners back and he still had it.  I paid a bit to get it but it makes the car worth way more in my opinion.  Everything else is original, powerglide, rear end, etc.  Even the disc brake calipers are the correct ones.  At some point someone wrecked the front and put a 68 fenders and standard grill.  No one I have ever talked to could tell me anything about the car, the guy I got it from was about to tub it and make a race car but felt like it was to special to do that.  I had no idea how rare some of the options were when I bought it, someone offered a crazy amount of money for the seats.  It needs a lot of metal repair (quarters floors, truck pan, etc) but is really not all that bad compared to some.  It has everything with it except the rear defroster which I purchased on ebay a few months ago and I am missing the deluxe shoulder belts.

Thanks everyone, I fell really good about the car.  I drove a plane jane 6 cyl 68 to High School and always wanted one with a RS with Deluxe interior and power windows.  I plan to start on it soon, collecting parts now.  Only thing is I wish it had black interior but for this car it is probably best to go back with the blue.

Here is a pic of the cowl tag if that is the body numbers.  As far as I can tell it shows everything but the power steering and disc brakes.  But they are original 4 piston calipers.  And I have most of the options, including the seats with headrests and fold down rear seats.

Decoding/Numbers / Question about 67 Engine and no Partial VIN
« on: April 17, 2018, 07:09:21 PM »
I have a 67 RS and have a question about the 327 having no Partial VIN code on the pad.  It is stamped V0323ME with a casting date of C167 (or c187).  The car was built in the 4th week of March 1967.  I have found a few mentions of the lower HP 327's having no partial VIN but wanted to verify this is the case.  I am 99% sure this is the original engine and was told it is, but wanted to get some clarity about not having a partial VIN.  When I bought the car it did not come with the correct engine but with about a years work I tracked down one of the owners who still had the engine.  The original broach marks are still present.

This car is full of rare options with bucket seats with headrests, power windows, fold down rear seat, Air conditioning, front console with gauge package and factory tach. Rear speaker, deluxe shoulder harness seat belts, remote control mirror, and rear defogger.  It has power steering, and front manual disc brakes with the original 4 piston calipers.  Car needs a total restoration but is pretty complete.
