Decoding/Numbers / 68 z Caliper stamps

My four caliper pieces have stamps on them.
The two inner pieces have MR3 stamped on them. One outer has MY3 and the other outer JN3 stamped
I cannot find anything on this. Does anybody else have stamping like this? Or know the meaning.

Decoding/Numbers / Headlight Mounting bracket date stamp?

Here is what I have. I believe the top one is a service replacement from an accident in the past. Also the bucket for this bracket is painted black instead of anodized.
The lower one has an anodized bulb bucket and the letter F stamped in the sequence of the mounting bracket. Is the F a date stamp for May? The car is a Norwood 6D

Originality / Gas tank and heater box markings

68 Z - 6B
Tank had been painted black somewhere back in time so I had a shop remove the paint. I discovered these numbers while cleaning it.
Included the gas tank date stamp as well.
Also on the heater box was this number.

Found this on FB in the same group, DZ302
Apparently, same dates:
Factory timing was spot on from casting to assembly.
The orange pics are late production 69
The faded pics are early production 68

I bet you are 100% right. I have been looking in the wrong spot. I didn't pick up the 3d extension aspect of the drawing and was using page AIM page 152 12 a5 as my reference for the neg cable. When I realized what you pointed out I went to my photos and found a pic of the bolt installed prior to the pump bracket. Now installation pic yet. The shop says they will have a bay available in a couple weeks. I'll post pics in this thread. No left over parts~

@firstgenaddict - The bolt is one piece. The threads are fine on the nut side and standard on the opposite.The washer is a flat washer.
@169INDY - The two bolts listed in the AIM for the pump are standard style bolts. A picture of a complete ready to install pump system is pictured on Jerry's website on the link below and you can see the two bolt heads.

I have done 68 engine installations before. However, I have never mounted an air pump before. So I "assumed" it was part of that assembly when I first saw it. When I put together all my info, pics, AIM pages and so for the project I realized I had this extra bolt. I'm not a fan of leftover parts. I have searched and searched with no success so I posted the picture here.
@69Z8--RS - I'm with you about the familiarity and at the moment my brain remembers it as possibly a power steering bracket bolt on a 68 SS 396 Chevelle. A car I had 40 years ago.
In the end, I greatly appreciate the help. I am beginning to feel that it somehow just found its way into the mechanics box of sort trays.

Greetings and thank you in advance~
68 z28. All original. I had my local shop remove the motor and sent it to Jerry for rebuild.
I intended to supervise the reassembly with the mechanic. The mechanic was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a cell phone. He will be ok but is out for at least several months.
So now I will do it and use their resources and a helper they will provide. I have gone through his bags I have everything organized and ready to go. Except this bolt. I don't recognize it. It was in the mix. It might not even go with the car.

« on: February 09, 2021, 01:32:35 AM »I am going to assume the OEM 68 one doesn't have the brake fluid SAE J1703 spec on it - I don't remember whether the 69 one has the brake fluid spec on it.
It does have that. You learn something everyday. Using the SAE J1703 as a search phrase I located a thread started by KurtS.
No I am correctly armed for the hunt.

I'm actually the opposite and spend a lot of hours each week searching, examining and learning.
For me it's working on a puzzle that takes shape with the more I learn.
No desire to be an expert, but it's still fun.

I hate trim tags.
I really hate trim tag counterfeiters.
There's too much "voodoo" in these tags and not much info around about how to spot bad ones until you find out here, then it's too late.
Kinda makes me wanna get into the AMX market. I don't think those folks really care, they just want a nice car.
Feel sorry for DDM, and glad he's being honest.
