Greetings, all,
Just registered for the site, and am looking forward to contributing. I just traded an old Model A for a '68 with RS and SS markings. Can't confirm whether either are legit yet, but it did come with the hideaways and an RS rear valance, along with an SS steering wheel center cap. It has power steering, but manual drum brakes, so I'm not holding a lot of hope that it's an SS, but that's not a deal breaker for me.
It was a former race car, with an Alston back half. PO had another drag car, so this one had to go. My plan is to finish it as a pro street with a large BBC, but I'm still on the fence with whether to keep the third pedal or build an automatic. This is my fourth Camaro, and my third 1st gen (last Camaro was a 'key and heater' model that I put a 427/TH400 in, and I had a 69 RS for fifteen years before the 68 came along).
Anyway, here's my starting point. Got the front clip removed yesterday in preparation to rebuild the front end.
Cheers,
