Doesn't sound like a Firebird code.  68 Firebirds have about 16 different axle codes, 7 start with X  (XB, XC XD, XE, XF, XG, and XN) 9 start with Z (ZB, ZC, ZD, ZE, ZF, ZM, ZN, ZP and ZR).  Which axle tube is it on, drivers facing the back, or passenger facing the front?

JG is a code for a 2.73 axle from a 1973 X- body (Olds Omega, Pontiac Ventura, or Buick Apollo - not a Nova axle code). Whatever it is it is using the post 1971 GM coding pattern and was assembled at the GM gear and axle plant in Detroit on the 56th day of the year during the night  shift.

For 69 there was 3 AM/FM models, 2 underdash 8 track players, and 1 console mounted 8 track player.  Theres an AM/FM mono radio, an AM/FM multiplex radio with an external multiplex unit (the bluelight stereo), and then theres a late model year AM/FM multiplex with an internal multiplex component (the Yellow light stereo).  There is one version of 8 track players are for use with the AM and AM/FM mono radios, and one used with the multiplex radios.  The mounting differences are determined by if the car had a console or not.

The AM/FM mono is model number 91BFP1
The blue light stereo is 91BFM1
The yellow light stereo is 91BFM2
The underdash 8 track player is 91BT411
The underdash multiplex 8 track player is 91BT421
The console mount 8 track player is 91FT211

In 69 there is only one version of the 8 track player that mounted on the console, and it was used with the mono radio setups, or if no radio was ordered.  In 68 there was 2 different versions, one for the mono radios and one for the multiplex radio. If you ordered a muliplex radio, you got the two knob 91BT421 under dash mounted 8 track player  wheather you had a console, or not.

If your going to buy a console mounted 8 track, make sure it has the arm rest cover pad included with it.  They are not reproduced and are extremely hard to find.  You can find moslty everything else on Ebay but don't be shocked by the prices.  A console mounted 8 track player is going to run you between 500 and 750 for the player alone, a mono AM/FM is probably in the 400 to 500 range, and a multiplex setup is going to be over 1000 bucks complete. make sure you get the multiplex mounting bracket if your going that route as well since they are unique to the Camaro and  are not reproduced either.

First U is the lower lower body paint code, second is the upper body paint code.  In your case both the upper and lower body is the same color.  If you had a Vinyl top then the second letter would be replaced with a number like 6 for white vinyl, or 2 for black.

Whatever it is, 350 or 327 it didn't originally come out of a Camaro.  No 327s in a Camaro after 1/1/69.  This engine came out of an Impala, or Chevrolet (full sized) assembled at the LA plant.

Nothing on the trim tag will indicate if the car had A/C.  Of course there will be a huge fiberglass box on the passenger side of the engine compartment, whenre the evaporator core is located.  If it has a heater system only there will be a metal peice of ductwork that is about 8" high that runs from the passenger side fender to just behind the passenger side head on the engine.  If the car doesn't have any ductwork on the firewall, and the hole thru the firewall for the ventilation system is roughly 6" tall by 12" wide then the car did not have A/C, if the hole is about 6" wide by 10" tall then the car had a/C.  There is a pnuematic damper under the cowl on the passenger side of the car on a/c cars.  You can see the edge of it sticking out from under the cowl panel on the top of the firewall just inboard of the passenger side hood hinge.  If your dash has a center vent above the heater controls, only one slider on each kickpanel (as opposed to a pair of sliders on each), no vent on the drivers side kickpanel then the car came with A/C.

The control on an A/C car will say bi-level on the slider closest to the driver, and have a 4 speed fan switch across the top of the control.  Non AC cars only have three speed fans.

Do you actually beleive that the poster was going to bid on the car, and just stumbled upon this thread?  just regeistered today, and his first post. I'll give you 10 to 1 odds the poster is either the guy that has the pile of junk thats on ebay now, or he's the one who sold the tag to him.

If not, lets see a picture of this other alleged 03E Z10 trim tag on the red Camaro.

The guy that originally had the fake Z10 is Al Hill, aka, Fat Alberts in Jackson, TN Some of his ebay names are jaminnow, chevepart, and ringblow, and now 998666.

Seller was 998666 from TN, he's been selling modified, and repro trim tags, some VINs and restamped engine components for atleast the last 8 or 9 months under various different ebay accounts.  The tag ddn't sell, in that auction, but that is tyhpical of his stuff, he either ends it early or puts a very high reserve on it then sells it outside of ebay.  He's scammed quite a few people, some of which are on this site, and Camaros.net.

Nice of them to steal the image of the Z10 and Z11 from the CRG report page. Its been on Ebay a couple of times  Heres the tag all by itself, from a January Ebay Auction.




Oh, and its a complete fake, both the tag, and the thought that this car was ever an SS, let alone an RS/SS

Not with an X11 Trim tag.  Best it could be is a small block SS with style trim, worst would be an L6 with style trim.  X11 does not indicate the car is an SS, justthat the car has style trim.  An X11 can be a small block SS but it doesn't have to be.

As long as you don't tell them what it is, ie a small block SS with a 4speed transmission, you shouldn't have a problem.  Just ask if anyone has a small block (or big block, or 6 cylinder) motor for VIN XYZ and you shouldn't have any issues.
