I don't know what the hp gain would be, if any, but there would be less friction and wear with roller rockers.

QuoteBy crossboss: Why not consider a 650 DP? Might be a better choice for some drivability on the street than the 'larger' carb(s).
Now THAT I can agree with! Most people install carbs that are way too much for what they're doing. Heck, even HOLLEY recommends a 650 for the 427 I'm installing in my 57 Chevy!
I sent Jerry a Holley 4777 650 double pumper I plan on trying out and I should be getting it back within the next few weeks. I also sent him two 3310's (both 3878261-EH carbs) that I'll try out and see which I like better, the 650 or the 780. I have a feeling the 4777 650 double pumper will be more in line with the street especially since I don't plan on pushing the RPM's past 5k.
Take a look at the Holley site and be honest with the numbers. If you have a 302 that's stock, but never plan on revving it past 6k, even a 4776 600 double pumper would be good enough! Or, a 4777 650 double pumper if you want a little more.

All,
I have a '69 Z11 with engine build date of T0409.
Would an early April, say April 2 alternator be ok for this engine? Too late?
Same with an early April water pump?
So I found a D89 (April 8, 1969), 1 day before the engine build date. Is that acceptable? Could they cast, machine, assemble and paint a water pump on the 8th and install it on my engine on the 9th? Did that happen?
Do you still own that car, Kurt?? If not, when did you own it? Maybe it's the same car??? This one is Daytona Yellow, black vinyl top, AC Auto, 396/350 hp...That’s got to be one great car optioned like that Gary....
I agree, Chick, and I'd love to have the car... in spite of my not being a 'big block fan' and not knowing the origin of the JL8 components...
Looking back now, I can't believe that back when I read the local ad (early 1977) for a '69 Camaro' for $900 from the local Olds dealer, that I didn't go check it out.. but I *assumed* it was probably 'just another ragged out' Camaro based on the price the dealer was asking! ... and that was during a period that I 'checked out' almost all the locally advertised early Camaros !
Anyone remember 'Marv's Chevy Only'? They were just down the street from the Pick a Part in Sun Valley.
I have been asked what's in the db.
At this point, it's over 22,000 cars. Some of those cars do not exist, only paperwork or drivetrain survives.
There are clear distortions in the data. While we have 4060 convertibles in the db (6.5% of convertibles made), the 17,170 coupes is only 2.5% of production.
Z28 - 2300 8% of total production
L6 - 2950 2% of total production
That tells something of the survival rates of convertibles and Z28's.
Well I do have an opinion on this one. Still a large portion of the Pro Mod and Top Sportsman cars are 63 split windows. Its something that in 2021 you can go 220 mph in a 1963 body style. They got it right. Granted they are aftermarket stretched, widened bodies and chassis but still 80% correct to the original body. With that being said I did destroy a nice 63 roadster at the Atlanta NHRA divisional. Not much left of that car. Pic attached for your viewing pleasure......
That totally sucks. Such a nice race car. I cringed when I saw your post/pictures. Im sure we all can agree, Cobra's and 'Vette's are some of the most beautiful and beloved cars ever made!
