Actually, psychology theory suggests that condescending addresses (such as "boys") self impose the greeter
to the dominant alpha role and suggests others in the group are inferior to the greeter. Similarly,
failure to acknowledge the attendance of both sexes while addressing a mixed group suggests superiority
over that dismissed group.

I thought that might be the case. Hard to imagine how low the survival rate is with so many cars made. But I suppose it's the same for other makes and models as well.

Thanks for the clarification. Weird that I never made that connection.

General Discussion / Re: Racing Camaros Book

I haven't finished it yet, but have enjoyed greatly what I have read. For those who like collecting books, it would be wise to order soon so you can get the hardbound issue. I waited too long to order another of Steve's books, and that arrived soft cover. That doesn't change the fact that Steve did a great job and the book is the same, but I prefer hardbound vs soft cover.

Garage Talk / Re: Most expensive muscle car ever ?

Corvettes, Cobras and GT-40's are not muscle cars.

The Ken Miles GT-350R sold in 2020 for $3.5m plus fees.

A 1971 4spd Hemi Cuda convertible (which I believe is the same one in today's auction) sold in 2014 for 3.5M plus fees.

The last 1967 Yenko was built in July, so it's doubtful any 67's were built with CE's. It's possible that CE warranty replacement's could have been installed in 67 Yenko's post the start of CE production.

I am pretty sure if it doesn't have Muncie punches it's a RS L30 M20 car.
3L Rally Sport includes the Z21 style trim group.

Emerald Turquoise is a beautiful color
The top color is off white/Fawn beige

RS manual trans in emerald turquoise is a nice car to build.

I agree, seems like it would be L30 M20. I would think K-6 would be Emerald Turquoise with a white vinyl top. James, where did you find those color choices? I'd love to see how that would look with a Sierra Fawn painted roof.

Seems pretty sketchy.

Really interesting pic. Definitely has a lowered look to it.

A
There are so many terms mid-used.

“Original” should only refer to the factory installed engine. As far as 67 and 68, the 427s should be considered “originally transplanted” engines.

Agreed Bryon.

No worries Tim. The terms mean different things to different people. If only we could all get on the same page to end the confusion. Unfortunately, a lot of sellers want that confusion in order to insolate themselves from responsibility.

Does the NCRS not care if a car is real as represented? Or is this a bs line also?

NCRS only supplies the shipping report. The document below it is not part of the the NCRS report. It's just an owner typed up document. Means nothing.

"INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING NCRS CERTIFICATION"

NCRS shipping report and NCRS Certification are two completely different meanings. I interpret that statement to be certified by NCRS by judging.

YS709, sold new at Central Chevrolet, West Springfield, MA.

Converted cars did not retain there original engines and received 427's. Not all of them started out as 396's in 1967. There are known non converted cars that still retain their original (I dislike the term, but) "born with" engines.

Sellers like this typically price their cars higher than the market. Especially now with the "pandemic" buying frenzy. Many of the remaining cars do not have their Yenko installed engines and the prices are still through the roof. It's been quite a few years, but the last 67 Yenko I remember, sold for around 400k; NOM. That was an auction, no idea what private party sales are going for.

Originality / Re: Block for 1967 Z28
« on: May 10, 2021, 12:28:33 AM »
That probably could have happened, but how likely. The block could have been replaced under warranty until roughly July of 68. The sooner it was replaced, the earlier date the replacement would probably have.

Why does that even matter? Sounds like you have a 67 Z without the original engine. If it were me, I'd use the 68 MO that you have (providing that car cannot be located) instead of trying to replicate a CE engine. To me, even a DZ would be better. They're verified 302's and I think that trumps a CE.
