General Discussion / Re: 68 Headrest Seats - EBAY
« on: February 27, 2009, 01:43:00 PM »
I agree with that statement.  I sell some NOS parts and have some advertised at prices I previously sold them for.  I have not received the first response.  I guess the market needed a correction.  Good for buyers - bad for sellers, but it will work out in the end.  I think the market has been out of hand anyway.

Schweet car Larry - My first Camaro was a 68Z, Corvette Bronze, black vinyl top, no console or gauges.  I've always wanted another.  Looks like you have done a fantastic job.  I hope you get to enjoy it!!!!!

Not sure how correct you want to be, but I have the Flowmaster kit (transverse muffler).  It sounds awesome!  Nice low rumble without the crack that some Flowmasters have.

Best of luck!

Mild Modifications / Re: '69 "Comfort Grip" steering wheel
« on: February 22, 2009, 09:20:33 AM »
I've got the same problem with my 69 but I'm 6'2.  Just too long in the legs.

I've seen  extended seat tracks on ebay that lets your seat go back another couple of inches but I've not bought them.  If I drove the car more requently, I might invest in them.

You might go to ebay and search for seat extenders.              Jim

The extended seat tracks are the trick.  I have had a set on my last two Camaros.  Bought them from a guy on EBAY with a screen name like nitrorat. They are OEM quality - nice pieces. I'm 6 foot 235lbs and I still have two twist a little two get under the wheel, but I could not do without the seat extenders. Tilt wheel is a bonus though.

Found them:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-1968-and-1969-Firebird-Camaro-seat-extenders_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a570Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem200311087322QQitemZ200311087322QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Well worth the money! :)

..Whats" EARLY STYLE 1/4 panels"..?? ...Never heard of that before..?? whats that all about.?

Maybe this will help.....
From CRG:
"Quarter panel styles: There appear to be 3 types of 1967 quarter panels that are distinguished by appearance in the door jamb area. The "early style" jamb includes a stamped indentation, in the shape of a conventional telephone handset, surrounding the door latch pin. The "middle style" includes this "telephone" shaped impression, but adds to it 5 small indentations that are in a vertical column near the leading edge of the jamb. The "late style" jamb is like the "middle style", including the 5 vertical indentations, but the top portion of the telephone-shape impression is partially truncated. The early-to-mid transition occurs around November/December. The mid-to-late transition seems to be in March/April."
