Here's a pic of the wife's '67 SS/RS (350ci/295hp).  Lifetime CA car, 12A build. Original drivetrain. The smog equipment is currently hooked up and functioning.  Doing our part to keep CA air clean ;) ps - no snorkle tube.

The 12337 in the VIN indicates your Camaro left the factory as a 6 cylinder engine coupe.  The 9 indicates 1969 model year.  The N is for the Norwood Ohio assembly plant.  529462 would make it a late Oct. 1968 built car with probably a 10C or 10D on the trim tag.

Welcome.  You'll find plenty of knowledge for 1st gen Camaros on this site  ;D.  Post a pic of your car when you get a chance.  So, no right side drive Camaros in Australia?

General Discussion / Re: XT wheel backspacing

I had my buddy measure his 69 dated XT and it measured 4 3/8" from the hub to the outer back edge of the rim.  The YJ rally he has measured the same (The XT & YJ have the same build dimensions).  Hope this helps.

Kudos, Kurt.  Great article ;D.  Keep up the great work, Folks!

General Discussion / Re: 1967 SS350 Convert Insurance Value?

I have my '67 RS/SS convert insured for 30k (and it may be under valued).  It's a #'s match car, but not a frame off resto; just a nice local car show cruiser.  You can take a look at www.nada.com for a value guide/estimate.

Steve, I might be stating the obvious, but I get a lot of this kind of stuff at our local "Pick 'n Pull" auto yards.  You might take a swing through you local yards and see what's there.

Originality / Re: 3-Spd Shifter Hole in the Wrong Place?
« on: February 28, 2006, 07:07:58 PM »
Finding the on-the-column shift handle and associated linkages might be tough (assuming the car didn't come with).  I looked through some of my reference stuff and couldn't really find a cut out/location dimension.  The factory shifter hole was a stamped cut out made at the Fisher body plant.  If you look in the '67 assembly manual at the D55 console option, it shows the cut out in relation to the console mounting points. There are location dimples in the trans tunnel for the line workers to drill for the console mounting bolts and you could use that as a rough guide.  Perhaps a CRG'er more knowledgeable on '67's can expound on this a bit more.

You are correct that the shifter/hole  is not in the factory installed location.  What type of advice are you seeking?

Here's a pic of my former 02A LA built 69 Z. This car had the best trunk I've ever seen.
