Originality / Re: 69 350 water pump?

Have you read this? http://www.camaros.org/waterpumps.shtml
That one looks like a later version to me, but the report will at least tell you what your car should have.

Originality / Fuse Panel Amperage Ratings
« on: December 17, 2015, 12:23:37 PM »
Been looking at a lot of original 1st gen fuse panels lately, and noticed that the short fuse for the dash instrument illumination (labelled 'INST. LPS.') varies between 2A, 3A and 5A, as labelled on the fuse panel from the factory. Doesn't seem to be a pattern to the RPOs of the cars that I've observed this on, but there must be a reason for it (console gauges, center clock/fuel gauge maybe?).
Anyone know why the different fuse ratings?

I just weighed mine at 16.08 ounces, although that's on a digital kitchen scale (ears still ringing, wife spotted me with car parts in the kitchen again....).
Hope others can weigh in (pun intended) to confirm their pulley weight, mine has a small amount of paint missing from the rear face but is still nearly 2oz more than yours Lloyd.

Originality / Re: Can one determine if a VN built Z/28 is real?
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:26:40 AM »
No, not without authenticated documentation. Have you checked the top of the gas tank, driver's side, for a copy of the broadcast sheet? Most LOS cars had one left on top of the tank, and if the tank is original to the car (and never been dropped), yours may still be there; you may be able to see it if you peek in the wheelhouse.
All of the clues you mention can suggest a Z, but could have equally come with other RPOs. Does your car have original paint, YH wheels, tire pressure sticker etc? Some good areas to check for more clues here: http://www.camaros.org/diffs69.shtml

Typical dealer blurb. I guess the inference is that the Judge and CRG member is JM, he is listed as a Core Member (2nd row of pictures, http://www.camaros.org/aboutcrg.shtml#Members) but why not state that, and post the appraisal certificate if so?

Restoration / Re: 1969 Z/28 Stripe Widths and Gaps?
« on: December 06, 2015, 08:31:52 AM »
There's definitely an error in the '69 AIM for the distance the rear stripes should stop from the rear glass trim, can't recall the dimensions off the top of my head but I think the conflicting measurement arose from the difference between v-top and no v-top.

Welcome, and good for you trying to reunite the car and documents! Hopefully the car is still out there.

General Discussion / Re: My 2 old Camaro's vin's

Hope the cars are still out there!
If the 327 was original to the car, it would have to be the early car and the Z the late-build (as you suggest) because the 327 was replaced with the 307 as the base V8 around January 1969.

On my LOS car, the pinstripe and gap are equal, and the overall width of both is 9/16". I made a drawing of the stripe measurements a few years ago, I'd be happy to share it with you if required but it does differ from the AIM specs and so is only really a record of how this car was done.

Yes, I had to humbly apologise earlier this year when I stated my production date was definitely April 1st, then re-checked my NCRS letter to find it was actually April 3rd.......
Just curious how the other 2 member's car production dates fit in around mine.
