Title: 69 Convertible Shackles

Were the shackles originally black or natural?

When I cleaned up my pace cars underbody last year the rear spring shackles appeared to be a fairly tough black primer under all the sand, dirt, grime,,,,

I chose to solvent clean, blast, prime and top coat black.

I agree. That is what I found too, and saw in Jerry's book they are supposed to be black.

As a point of clarification I will add the following.

During removal of the associated hardware related to the rear leaf spring shackle's, I used a open ended wrench and the nuts were NOT going to be removed without a fight.
