Title: Oil pan removal
Post by: sixt9x33rs on October 19, 2011, 12:16:50 PM
Is there a place in the chasis service manual that tells you the process to remove the oil pan on a small block? Can't seem to find it.

I need to either change the pan gasket or I have a rear main seal leak.

Thanks

It's on page 6-19 in the 1969 manual.  Also do an advanced search I know it's been posted before.  ;)

What chapter? My manual has the chapter listed as a page number then the pages within the chapter i.e. 6-5 as chapter 6 page 5
Thanks

As noted, the Engine section is Section 6, as shown on the first page of the 1969 Chassis Service Manual; the oil pan removal process is covered in great detail on page 6-19 (pages are numbered in the top corner).
