Title: 68 speedo ground strap
Post by: 68Zproject on May 19, 2011, 10:25:08 PM
The last info I got in the post below was that for my build date (05D) I should have the flat ribbon type ground strap pictured in post #9 and not the wire one that goes to the high beam socket.  I need to know for sure and need some guidance.  I ordered some parts from a well known vendor and they had the picture of the flat one for the part and since that's what I thought I needed that's what I got.  However, when I opened the box it had the wire one.  I've e-mailed them and asked about it and they said they have the flat one if I want it.  Long story short, they want to charge me for the new one and I have to pay for shipping the old one back and when they get it they will credit me.  Then they want to charge me shipping on the new part.  I said I don't think that's right and they said they have to charge me shipping.  Is this what customer service is coming to in all these companies?  They ship you the wrong part and it's up to you to pay again  What the hell is going on?

Anyone have a part # for this piece?  It's not listed in the AIM that I can see.

Thanks Ed.  Do you show when that came into effect?  I'm trying to figure out what mine should have and due to the problem with the part I got I need to make sure My 05 D should have the flat strap and not the wire like strap.

It doesn't say, but my 05D LA car has the flat strap.
