Title: 1969 Z28 Original Ignition coil ?
Post by: rally on November 20, 2010, 09:32:58 PM
Did the 69 302 Z28 Engine use a special ignition coil for their points distributor. Was it  a special coil with better voltage? If not what did they use.

As I understand it, the coil and bracket assembly was a part number. When I look in the chassis manual the winding resistance is the same for all V-8 engines, except those with a transistor ignition. So I would conclude the 302 used an ordinary coil with a bracket that made it a different part number from a SS350, etc.
