What is the correct (or best) ring gasket to use on the Q-Jet fuel inlet fitting? Right now, the one that I have is an off-white color (nylon maybe?) and fairly thick. It seems to distort when I tighten the fitting. I have seen others that use a thin hard fiber gasket, and I read somewhere that the original was a rubber coated metal gasket.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure it was rubber coated, but certainly metal - ali or copper about 0.5mm thick

Yes, they are rubber lined aluminium as per pic, but just a thin veneer of rubber on each face, not on the edges

Thanks Rob. I found my original and it looks just like the picture. Now I just need to have the inlet threads repaired. Guess I'll start another thread on who is recommended for that repair.

Another pic [tough one to take close-up under fluoro's !]
