I was talking with a chap who has a nice original 1968 RS SS..
He said the car has manual front drum brakes that are original to the car. I'm fairly sure with 1969 that the J52 power discs were a mandatory option when ordering SS.. Was this not the case in 1968?
Has someone done a swap on the brakes of this car perhaps?
-
Disc brakes were an option except for Z/28's.
Look at this: http://www.camaros.org/diffs68.shtml

For 1969 power front discs were included with Camaro SS equipment and do not appear as an extra-cost option on documentation. They [or JL-8] were a required extra-cost option on Z/28 and appear as such on documentation.
For '67 & '68 SS equipment did not include or require front discs. Later in '68 power brakes were required with 396 engine.

But that's a 67. :)
In 68, discs were available with any wheel / hubcap combination.

Nope. In 68, 44196 with J50 power drums. 20117 with power discs. http://www.camaros.org/options.shtml#RPOSpreadsheet

! I did not know that ! I guess I focus on 67's and let 68 69 detail's go undetected !
