I have a 69 396 coupe that needs an a/c compressor, does anyone know if these are date coded in any way?

Thanks for the help, the broken compressor has 6 L cast in the back and the lable on the top has 091282 for a code, I would take that for Sept 12, 1968 second shift but what is the 6 L ? Dec 66? I don't know wether to repair this one as it seems to be original other than if that truely is Dec 66 or look for a different one. Any ideas?

Trust the label. I'd fix it.
