Title: tampered cowl tag?
Post by: bart612 on June 07, 2009, 07:58:33 PM
Hey Guys

I recently ran across a 1968 camaro but am currious about the cowl tag and if it looks like its been tampered with the way it is attached looks a little rough.  Also i read it as  being Ash Gold but the the jams and under the door panels looks like a light green color.

Ash Gold did actually look more on the light green side than the gold side of the spectrum. Cowl tag looks fine to my eye but I am not a pro at this.

The Tag's real. Ash gold is one of those colors that looks green in certain lighting. What's the VIN?

I thought the tag was real i was just wondering about how the welds where it attached were so rough.  The vin number is 124378N417149

That is just the seam-seal that drips  out of the rivet centre before it hardens up. Looks fine, dont touch it and remove the excess seam-seal . Just my opinion
