Title: installing aftermarket speakers in a 67-68 convertible
Post by: my124677n on February 03, 2009, 02:25:52 PM
Has anyone had any luck installing aftermarket speakers in their 67-68 convertible (without cutting hole in the door panels). I know there are kick panels you can but with the speakers built in, but then you lose the ventilation pull lever.  I'm hoping to just install in the kick panel, but I have heard there are problems with that lever ever working correctly after that.  Any help.

My levers still work and someone had put aproximately 3 or 4 inch round speakers.

I installed a pair of Infiniti 462.5cfp plate speakers that fit perfectly behind the factory rectangle grilles on the kick panel and they work and sound very nice and do not interfere with the levers at all.

That's what I'll buy then. Thanks for the info.
