Title: Cowl color on '67 Camaro
Post by: heckler on October 27, 2008, 02:18:33 AM
Have Butternut hardtop '67 camaro.  What color was the cowl on the original.  I know the cowl it self is body color....but what of the body under the cowl it bolts to?  Same color as the fire wall?  Where does the paint line start and end?

Thanks for all your help,

Mike

The body was painted color. Then the firewall was blacked out.
It was masked off - no tape lines, just a fade away....

Look at the firewall on an original car.

If firewall was painted after body color, when was the bottom painted?

Also, what of the back tail panel being it was painted black as part of the SS bumblebee striping?

Thanks,

Mike

The black tail panel was not always part of the SS stripe. An SS could be a 350 small block, or 396 big block. Only the big block got the black out on the tail panel.
